BE LIKE SALT AND CANDLES
The teaching of Jesus often was taught with stories or parables. Be like salt and candles.
SALT:
1. a crystalline compound, sodium chloride, NaCl, occurring as a mineral, a constituent of seawater, etc., and used for seasoning food, as a preservative, etc.
2. table salt mixed with a particular herb or seasoning for which it is named: garlic salt; celery salt.
3. an element that gives liveliness, piquancy, or pungency: Anecdotes are the salt of his narrative.
4. to cure, preserve, or treat with salt.
5. to add interest or excitement to: a novel salted with witty dialogue.
Be like salt. Preserve what is good. Add liveliness and exceitement to life. Cure or heal what is needed.
CANDLES:
1. A solid, usually cylindrical mass of tallow, wax, or other fatty substance with an axially embedded wick that is burned to provide light.
Something resembling this object in shape or use.
2. An obsolete unit of luminous intensity, originally defined in terms of a wax candle with standard composition and equal to 1.02 candelas. Also called international candle.
Be like candles. To burn. To shine. Not withholding any knowledge. Share what you have. Not afraid to show or do what is right.
